Dr. Shweta Vandurkar, orthopaedic surgeon in Thane, evaluates your history, examines the area, reviews imaging when needed, and explains every option clearly, starting with the least invasive that can work.

Not sure where to start?
Solutions, from simple to surgical
- Splints, especially at night, for carpal tunnel and trigger finger
- Pain-relief medicines and anti-inflammatory gels as advised
- Hand therapy and tendon-gliding exercises
- Casts and splints for fractures
- Corticosteroid injection for carpal tunnel, trigger finger or De Quervain’s (selected cases)
Injections are used selectively after assessment and are one part of a wider plan.
- Neutral wrist position when typing and using the phone
- Take micro-breaks and stretch the fingers
- Use larger-grip tools and avoid prolonged strong gripping
- Carpal tunnel release. Day-care surgery for persistent or worsening nerve compression.
- Trigger finger release. For fingers that keep locking after other treatment.
- Fracture fixation and tendon repair. For unstable fractures and cut tendons.
Where a specialised procedure is needed, Dr. Shweta will explain it clearly and, if appropriate, coordinate with the relevant specialist or hospital. Medicines and procedures are decided only after examination.
